This map is for the use of drone pilots, it is an advisory to drone pilots, giving you advice on where you should or shouldn't fly your drone. The data in this map is not always 100% accurate, so please use your own discretion and fly safely.
Distance: The blue dotted circle around your location is your maximum flight range(500 meters), it is the maximum range from the pilot the drone is allowed to be at any time. The only time you are allowed to fly further than that is if you have EVLOS or BVLOS certification and all the associated paperwork to go with it.
Height: Always try not to fly higher than anything within 300 meters of the drone. If the highest object near your drone is a tree, try not to fly much higher than that. No one will split hairs with you about your exact height if you go a few meters higher, the goal is the safety of all air traffic and full-size aircraft and especially helicopters are know to fly very low at times.
Restricted airspace: Restricted airspace around aerodromes and other venues are marked as circles or shapes with varying sizes. Try not to fly in these areas, but if you do, you can be fined or arrested and definitely always stick to the height restriction of no higher than anything near you. Some restricted airspace is for your own safety, such as when there is blasting or firing of live ammunition.
Prohibited airspace: These areas are definite no fly zones for drones and are often very dangerous or military in nature. Flying in these areas can get you arrested.
NOTAMs(Notice to Airmen/women): Notams are official notices of new or temporary aviation hazards and are published daily by the SACAA. They inform you of events or obstacles that may be a danger to flying. Some are simply cranes and radio masts but some are airshows, skydiving drop zones, or even aviation sport events and commercial drone operations.
